I spotted this on a door in Old Town today for the first time. Whew! It reminds me of something you would see in an old European city. So pretty. Ok...so can you guess where it is?

Is it the side door (back entrance) to Monrovia Travel on Lime? If so, it is at the Neville Building on the corner of Lime and Myrtle and that building is a story unto itself.
Okay... the Neville building story, briefly. Back in the 1980s the building was in terrible shape. It's been around forever, but needed lots of TLC. My husband was invited by the property manager to have a look at the shops (a bookie's office was in the back on the ground floor!), and the second floor. Once we climbed up there via the rickety staircase entrance on the Lime Ave. side, we found a mess ... pigeon droppings, dead birds, rats, all kinds of yuck. The building owner agreed to have the interiors and exteriors redone, so for a year the second floor was cleaned out and redesigned into a lovely workspace with about 10 offices. The offices on the north side of the building have spectacular views of the mountains. The exterior was also redesigned and woodwork and storefronts painted to compliment the beautiful, and original, brickwork. I think all the work was worth it. It makes a lovely building in Old Town.

That is indeed the place, Charlotte. I've got a pic of the Neville doorway I'll post shortly.
