Three Wheelin'

You can get the kid outta the big-wheel, but you can't get the big-wheel outta the kid...police in Monrovia will now be tooling around in Segway-like scooters, according to the Pasadena-Star News. Hopefully they are fun to ride.

Nels Ortlund, of the Monrovia Police Department, crosses Myrtle Avenue as he rides the department's new T3 Mobility Transporter through Old Town Monrovia Friday afternoon, April 6, 2007. The electric vehicle cost $8,000, can go up to 25 mph and costs 10 cents a charge. The department is going to begin using the T3 in Old Town Monrovia on Friday nights. I've noticed Metro cops using these in the Sierra Madre Villa station; they look really silly.

I don't get it! What was wrong with the mountain bikes...too cheap...how much are these things? What a waste of money.

I agree, bikes are the most cost effective solution.
