These are grain silos and the only reason the tracks that run through town still see some use.
Moving the grainery will be important to keeping the Gold Line construction cheap. If it's not moved then three rails will need to be used between Monrovia and Irwindale instead of just two - meaning all the bridges between Monrovia and Irwindale would need to be reconstructed - ouch!
I'm fairly sure I remember that the City Council worked with Dreier's office to get the move paid for.
