Go see the film, "An Inconvenient Truth" !

My friends and I went to see Al Gore's new film, "An Inconvenient Truth," in Pasadena over the weekend and it is a must-see film. I have so much respect for what Gore is doing: really putting his money where his mouth is, so to speak. He is traveling the world, trying to get the message out about what is happening all over the planet as a consequence of choices we are all making in our daily lives.

The nice thing about this film is that you never feel as if you are being lectured or preached to. It's more like a window into his life's passion...to educate people about what is really going on and inspire them to make a difference. So much of what we see and read anymore is designed to confuse us on the real issues. Go see this movie!

I have yet to hear a bad thing about this movie. The worst I've heard is that Gore is talking about things which will happen over decades and there's no way people will plan that far in advance. Pfft!

I wish it had wider release. It wasn't playing in Burbank the last time I checked. This is the kind of stuff that needs to be burned into our collective psyche, and that won't happen if it isn't available. Hopefully it'll make it to cable soon. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the inevitable DVD has a bunch of extra goodies.

Gore is one of a very small handful of politicians who has my respect. My biggest problem is his ambivalence over holding office. The other side has no such qualms and we are all the worse for it.

It is playing in Pasadena and the Laemmle 7 by Vromans. I do hope it gets wider release also. It is interesting to note the movies that are previewing before this film also. One is about the death of the electric car (systematic purchase and shredding of a whole fleet of cars). I also hope that the success of this film inspires others to follow suit. It's hard to get information anymore...
